This is JesuOtaku's review of Samurai 7. Samurai 7 is produced by Gonzo and available from Funimation. This review is unofficial and entirely silly to boot. Our love for you is like a bukkit... Kikuchiyo as an iron man? I would have thought it was a stupid idea, but you wouldnt believe how well it works! Now he can blow off steam LITERALLY! MWA HA! ^_^ I wonder what Toshiro Mifune would have thought about being a mech I enjoyed this series, I guess, but its definitely not one of my favorites. In fact, I spent most of my time griping at it because I loved the original film so much and this did not improve on it in any wayI still highly recommend it, though! Also, this show recaps itself more than any other anime in existence. Theres one half-recap episode, and the stinger at the top and end of EVERY EPISODE is a recap. Im not kidding. I've been informed that Kare Kano is even worse, though, I've tried to wipe that show from my memory so I forgot about it. Well, at least its not doing it in-show? I still dont know if that mud ever came out of my sneakersI LIKE those sneakers, and as you can see, one is immersed in creek muck. The gi Im wearing is from years ago, a bit too small for me nowspecial thanks to Prof for ...
@Husse67
Thank you so much for the reminder of the Seven Samurai. I finally took the time to watch it and I was blown away. I also watched the Magnificent Seven, which was great and I want to thank you for the recommendations. Keep up the good reviews.

I would also strongly disagree with people viewing the anime before the movie, at least if they care about spoilers(which most people seem to). As you said, its consider one the best movies ever made. I see it as a better outcome for someone to be annoyed at an already mediocre show then watch one of the best movies ever made with the deaths and outcome already spoiled.
Was that sarcasm that I completely failed to understand about the animation being bad at 4:17? The scene you were criticizing was animated by Hisashi Mori, a respected and talented animator. search here in the tube for 森久司 MAD. Yes, it may not look pretty to you due to characters not staying in model but its far from "bad animation."
@Husse67 I totally agree with you and so does my girlfriend (who introduced me to this series). It must have been the president of Gonzo's nephew or something... otherwise there's no conceivable reason that animator should get work.
I remembered when I first started watching this anime and saw the terrible animation for couple of episodes, and I was like, "What happened? 0_0 Did that animators get lazy or something? WTF?! XP" But all in all, it's a pretty good show. I still have yet to see the movie Seven Samurai...and I'm actually considering checking out Magnificent Seven. It does sound somewhat good... Awesome review! ^^ Btw, I agree on the characterization completely. After watching a 2nd time, i only hate katsu more!
OMG... this is the first anime i have seen where the CGI is sooooo terrible... u said in another review... that Beserk did not have good graphics but this takes the cake... my gush.. my eyes hurt too
I liked this anime in the beginning, but towards the end I started to hate to it. The animation was inconsistent (especially in certain episodes) and story tried too hard to do more than the source material that it ends up falling on it's face Pretty shameful compared to the original Akira Kurosawa film in my opinion. I think it had potential, and it did have some cool fight scenes, but that last half killed it for me, especially with how cheap they got.
HI! this is good job! i like akira kurosawa. but i don't look at anime smurai seven. i have seen almost movie of akira kurosawa. your review is good job!

i agree with the art droping off at some point early in the series, much like the third: the girl with the blue eye did in some of its eps, but both animes are great and fix their problems soon enough so as to not ruin the whole experience i just thought the cg was expensive and thats why the animation suffered in some eps
